NSURS students present research at North Carolina Academy of Sciences Meeting

On April 5-6, 2013, Warren Wilson College students Sarah Jamisen, Chelsea Kay, Tabitha Ndung’u, Marie Orton, Mary Alice Reding, Amelia Snyder, Grace Wiessner, and David Zaritsky presented their undergraduate research projects at North Carolina Academy of Sciences Meeting (NCAS) meeting at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke. Professors Dean Kahl (Chemistry) and Alisa Hove (Biology) accompanied the students on this trip.

Three NSURS students took home awards from the conference. Mary Reding‘s (second place in the category Chemistry, Physics, Science Education and Health Sciences), Chelsea Kay (second place in the category Botany, Zoology, Ecology and Environmental Science), and Amelia Snyder (third place in the category Botany, Zoology, Ecology and Environmental Science).
